Slow Train

Station No. 8

Valemere

· Windy coast

The sea is just beyond the fence and the tide sets the mood.

Salt wind reaches the carriage windows and the dunes glow pale along the bay. Night is gathering, and the platform lamps make small islands of yellow.

Valemere is a small stop, and the train does not hurry here. A stack of milk crates, a faded poster and a small garden of marigolds by the gate. The brakes release with a long sigh, and the next stretch of country opens ahead.

The rhythm of the wheels settles into something close to a lullaby. There is no timetable to worry about; the train is simply going on, as it always does.

The Slow Train pulled into Valemere at midnight UTC on 8 November 2026, rested at the platform for a minute, and carried on across windy coast. Everyone riding that day looked out of the same window.
