Station No. 3
Sorrelwick
Where the timetable is mostly weather.
Hay lies in long rows across the field, waiting for a dry afternoon. The sun is low and orange, laying long shadows across the fields.
Sorrelwick is a small stop, and the train does not hurry here. Rain barrels line the back wall, and an old brass bell hangs unrung by the door. No one gets off. The window is the destination, and it slides gently into motion again.
A thermos is passed along the row, and no one is quite sure whose it was. The next stop is already on its way, and it will arrive exactly when it is meant to.
The Slow Train pulled into Sorrelwick at midnight UTC on 3 November 2026, rested at the platform for a minute, and carried on across meadow country. Everyone riding that day looked out of the same window.
